Access and privacy

Sign-in

OAuth, in your browser. No password or key is shared with the AI app, and nothing is pasted into a chat. Use the email of your Video Highlight account: a different email opens a new, empty account.

Scope

Your assistant sees your own library only, and only when a question needs it. Videos you transcribed but did not summarize are not in the library yet.

Logging

We record that a tool was called, whether it succeeded and how long it took. We do not log the question, the video, or the content returned. Privacy policy, sections 4.1 to 4.3.

Do I need a Video Highlight account first?

No. Sign in with any email and a free account is created for you. It starts empty, so add a video at videohighlight.com before you ask about it.

Which email should I sign in with?

The one on your Video Highlight account. If you used a different one and your library looks empty, remove the connector in your AI app, add it again, and sign in with the right email. If you signed up with Google, pick the same Google account.

Can it summarize a new video?

No. It reads what you have already summarized. Paste the link at videohighlight.com, and the summary is available to your assistant as soon as it is ready. No reconnect needed.

Why does Claude ask before using a tool?

Claude asks before its first use of each connector tool unless you choose Always allow. Every Video Highlight tool is read-only, and each one can be switched off on its own.

Can it read my private uploads?

Yes, once you have summarized them. They stay private to your account. Uploading your own files needs a paid plan.

How do I disconnect?

Remove Video Highlight in your AI app's connector settings. To revoke the authorization on our side as well, email support@videohighlight.com.
