Read-only, by design
The connector can find, read and cite your videos. It cannot generate summaries, transcribe, upload, create highlights or notes, edit playlists, export, delete, or change your billing. Every tool call is scoped to your own account. You can disconnect at any time from the connector settings of the AI host you connected.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Video Highlight connector?
A remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that connects an AI host to your Video Highlight library. It exposes read-only tools so the assistant can find, read and cite your videos. It runs over Streamable HTTP at one endpoint URL.
Is it read-only?
Yes. The connector can search your library, list videos, and read transcripts and summaries. It cannot generate summaries, transcribe, upload, create highlights or notes, edit playlists, export, delete, or change your billing. Those stay at videohighlight.com.
How do I sign in?
Sign-in happens in your browser: your AI host opens a Video Highlight consent screen, you approve access with OAuth, and no password is shared. You never paste a key or password into the chat.
Do I need a Video Highlight account?
Yes, a free one. Sign up at videohighlight.com with the same email you use to sign in to the connector, because the connector matches you to your library by email.
Why does Claude ask permission before each tool?
Claude starts every new connector tool at "Needs approval" and asks before the first use. All seven Video Highlight tools are read-only, so setting them to "Always allow" in Claude's tool permissions panel is safe. Nothing the connector can do changes your account.
How do I disconnect?
Remove Video Highlight from the connector settings of the AI app you connected it to. There is no connected-apps list on videohighlight.com today. To have the authorization revoked on our side as well, email support@videohighlight.com. Personal Access Tokens, if you created any, are revoked at videohighlight.com/settings/api-keys.

Does it work with an empty library?
Yes, that is a normal state. Process your first video at videohighlight.com by pasting a link or uploading a recording, and it will appear to the connector.
