Types of Accounts

  • Two types of accounts available: professional and individual.

Getting Started with Amazon Selling

This section covers the basics of getting started with selling on Amazon, including creating an account and choosing a business model.

Choosing a Business Model

  • There are three main business models for selling on Amazon: arbitrage, wholesale, and private label.
  • Arbitrage involves buying low and selling high. There are two types of arbitrage: retail and online.
  • Wholesale involves buying products directly from brands or distributors at a discounted price.
  • Private label involves creating your own brand and manufacturing your own products to sell on Amazon.

Getting Started with Selling on Amazon

  • To get started with selling on Amazon, create an account at sellercentral.amazon.com.
  • Choose the $40/month option to gain access to tens of millions of customers in the US without having to pay additional fees until you start making sales.
  • Retail arbitrage involves going into physical stores like Walmart or Nike outlets to find products to resell on Amazon. Online arbitrage involves finding deals on websites like Walmart.com or Nike.com and reselling those products through Amazon.
  • When starting out, it's recommended to begin with low-risk options like used books or retail arbitrage before moving onto more complex business models like wholesale or private label.

Introduction to Amazon Selling

In this section, the speaker introduces different models of selling on Amazon and highlights the benefits and drawbacks of each model.

Different Models of Selling on Amazon

  • Arbitrage: finding profitable items that are already listed on Amazon and reselling them for a profit.
  • Private Label: creating your own brand and products to sell on Amazon. This requires buying inventory from China, creating listings, and potentially running ads.
  • Wholesale: buying products in bulk from manufacturers at a discounted price and reselling them on Amazon.
  • Dropshipping: shipping products directly from the manufacturer or supplier to the customer without holding inventory. This is not recommended as it can lead to a poor customer experience.

Differences Between Arbitrage and Dropshipping

In this section, the speaker explains why arbitrage is a better option than dropshipping when it comes to selling on Amazon.

Why Arbitrage is Better Than Dropshipping

  • With arbitrage, you can make money by finding profitable items that are already listed on Amazon without having to create demand or build trust with customers.
  • With dropshipping, you have to find a product, build a website, run ads, optimize keywords, and build customer trust. This requires more effort than arbitrage.
  • Dropshipping can lead to a poor customer experience since products may take longer to arrive and may not come in an Amazon Prime box. This can result in negative reviews and account suspension.

Conclusion

In this section, the speaker concludes by summarizing the benefits of selling through arbitrage on Amazon.

Benefits of Selling Through Arbitrage

  • Arbitrage is a low-risk way to make money on Amazon without having to create your own products or build your own brand.
  • Unlike private label, there is no need to buy inventory in bulk or negotiate with manufacturers.
  • By selling through arbitrage, you can take advantage of existing demand and marketing efficiencies on Amazon.

Third-Party Sellers

Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) vs Fulfillment by Merchant (FBM)

Importance of Being an FBA Seller

  • Amazon wants happy customers and makes more money through higher fees with FBA sellers.

Retail Arbitrage

  • Retail arbitrage involves going into retail stores or thrift stores, scanning items with the Amazon seller app, and flipping them online.

  • It's easier to scale as there are often larger quantities of products available online.

Reverse Sourcing

  • Using repricing tools like Be Cool can help increase buy box share and profits.
  • Different sourcing methods like retail arbitrage, online arbitrage, and reverse sourcing can all be effective depending on the seller's goals.

  • Reverse sourcing is a strategy where you use public data on what other people sell to find profitable products. It can be confusing but is very lucrative.

FBM 22:02 - Keepa 24:05 - Helpful Tools 28:36 - Sourcing Products 31:25 - Who Am I? 33:27 - FBA Roadmap 34:07 - Results This is the best way to start an Amazon FBA online arbitrage business in 2023, even as a complete beginner. I started my Amazon FBA journey back in 2019 and this is the guide I needed. Online Arbitrage is the BEST Amazon FBA business model (better than retail arbitrage, wholesale, and private label) due to the low risk and scalability. With private label you are playing winner take all and have to market your product, which can lead to spending lots of money and losing it if your products don't sell, as you have to buy products from China which is expensive. Retail arbitrage is similar to online arbitrage but is less scalable and more work. If I wanted to do millions in sales with retail arbitrage I would have to have a massive operation and team finding items for me at big retail stores. Online arbitrage is better. Wholesale is similar to online arbitrage but takes more money to get into. You also have to spend lots of time calling brands and distributors to get items, when I can get started today and find some online arbitrage profits like I show you in this video. Online arbitrage on Amazon FBA is the act of buying items from big retail websites and flipping them on Amazon. I started this back in 2021 and within 6 months was making six figures profit on an annual basis, then cleared $50k profit in a single month December 2021 alone. In December 2022 I just passed $80k profit for a single month and did almost $2.5m revenue for the year. Here are the steps to get started. You need to create an Amazon seller account via Amazon Seller Central, do a professional account which will cost $40/mo. This cost does not increase. Getting software is the next step. A lot of people think this part is VERY complicated. They think that to do millions in sales I need to have a big team, employees, complicated software and virtual assistants, none of this is true! I just use Keepa and SellerAmp. SellerAmp is $19/mo and helps me tell what a product sells for, the exact fees, and profits. As well as the storefront search feature helps me find more items from looking inside the storefronts of successful sellers. By looking at what items successful sellers are carrying, I can find more profits and inspirations for future products to look for. Keepa is $20/mo and tells me the supply, demand, and competition an item overtime. Both are necessary and provide data that is crucial to not making mistakes. How do I tell demand of products to sell on Amazon? The sales rank number. The sales rank (aka BSR) is a number assigned to every item on Amazon that tells the demand. For example the #1 item in Toys sells the fastest. I try to stay under a 50k sales rank in most categories with a minimum ROI of 30%. Buying items that sell, who cares if you find an item at Walmart that has a 100% ROI if the sales rank is 2 million, as it never sells. What websites do I like to buy from? Basically all the largest ones and some niche ones as well. Walmart, Nike, Adidas, you name it. Arbitrage is the oldest business model around and people trust the convenience and speed of Amazon like no other. What products do I like to sell? All types of stuff, shoes, toys, clothing, supplements, anything that sells quick that I can find at a profitable price. Luckily, people buy all types of stuff on Amazon so demand is there. I know what some of you are thinking reading this... Great, he can sell a lot of the biggest name brand items on Amazon. But I can't as a beginner. Yes you can! Getting ungated on Amazon FBA in 2023 is actually very easy (now), it didn't used to be. Most big websites (Dick's, Kohls, Walmart, BestBuy) will get you ungated using their receipts/invoices. Just order orders to a combined 10+ and submit the order confirmation emails/packing slips/pictures of items to Amazon and you'll be approved. Try it, I promise itll work! You might be declined a few times but thats fine. #AmazonFBA #amazonfbatips #amazonfbaseller
