- One morning, while having breakfast (toast with butter and coffee), he reads a shocking headline: "THE SKY IS FALLING!" which frightens him.
- In panic, he drops his toast into his coffee and decides to inform everyone about the alarming news.
Spreading the Panic
- Polletto sends an email to a thousand friends and rushes into the street to share the news with others. His first encounter is with Gallina Pina returning from shopping.
- Upon hearing the news, Gallina Pina believes it because Polletto claims he saw it on the internet, leading them both to run together down the road.
Gathering More Friends
- At the pond, they meet Paperella Lella who also joins their frantic run after learning about "the sky falling." She too trusts Polletto's claim based on internet information.
- They then encounter l’Oca Giulia and Piccione Paolone at the farm; all characters express fear and urgency upon hearing that "the sky is falling." They collectively affirm their belief by stating they saw it online.
Escalation of Fear
- Volpe Rossana, sitting at a café writing on her laptop, learns about the situation from them and reassures everyone that she knows where they can hide from this impending doom. She leads them away for safety.
- The group follows her through various terrains until they reach a dark cave where Volpe assures them they will be safe from falling skies inside it.

- The next morning reveals that Polletto Carletto and his friends have vanished from the cave without explanation; only Volpe Rossana remains contentedly under a tree with a full belly suggesting something sinister has occurred.
- Volpe reflects on their foolishness while resuming her writing on her laptop, leaving their fate ambiguous yet hinting at her satisfaction with what transpired.
