Integrating Excel into OneNote
In this video, the presenter demonstrates different ways to work with Excel inside of OneNote. The integration of Excel into OneNote allows for maintaining explanations and context for data sets, as well as the ability to search through the contents of Excel files.
Adding an Existing Spreadsheet to Notes
- To add an existing spreadsheet to notes in One
- Click on "Add page" and go to the "Insert" tab.
- Click on "Spreadsheet" and choose "Existing Excel spreadsheet".
- Navigate to the desired file and click "Insert".
- Choose the option to attach the file.
- Changes made in the embedded spreadsheet will not impact the original file.
Inserting an Image of a Spreadsheet
- To insert an image of a spreadsheet linked to the copied file:
- Create a new page and go to "Spreadsheet".
- Navigate to the desired file and click "Insert".
- Choose the option to insert a spreadsheet image.
- Changes made in Excel will update in the embedded image.
Embedding Specific Worksheets
- When adding a spreadsheet with multiple worksheets:
- Choose which worksheet(s) to embed by selecting specific options during insertion.
Creating a New Excel Spreadsheet in OneNote
- To create a new Excel spreadsheet within One
- Click on "Add page", go to "Spreadsheet", and select "New Excel spreadsheet".
- Double-click on the icon or use the edit button to enter data.
Converting a Table into an Excel Spreadsheet
- Tables created within OneNote can be converted into an Excel spreadsheet:
- Right-click on the table, select "Convert", and choose conversion into an Excel spreadsheet.
