How to Properly Wash Your Hands and Use Masks
Proper Handwashing Technique
- To begin washing hands, gather all necessary items: towel and soap. Turn on the water and let it run.
- Apply soap with a little water, rubbing both palms together, including the back of the hands. Ensure to scrub for at least 20 seconds.
- Clean between fingers and around thumbs using a rotational motion. Rinse thoroughly under running water.
- Dry hands with a towel; use one part of the towel to dry one hand before drying the other.
- Turn off the tap using a towel to avoid recontamination, then dispose of the used towel properly.
Correct Mask Usage
- Before putting on a mask, ensure hands are clean. Identify the metal strip that fits over the nose bridge.
- Place the mask securely over your nose and chin without leaving gaps; it should not sit below your nose or above your chin.
- Once positioned correctly, do not adjust or touch it again until removal is necessary.
- To remove, use one hand to pull off the elastic band without touching the front of the mask; dispose of it safely afterward.
When to Seek Medical Attention
- If experiencing respiratory symptoms such as increased nasal discharge, cough, body aches, or fever, seek medical attention promptly.
- Contact healthcare services for assistance regarding any health concerns or questions related to symptoms experienced.
