How Are Balloons Made?
The Evolution of Balloons
- The concept of balloons has evolved from unpleasant beginnings, originally made from animal bladders in the past.
- In the 19th century, rubber balloons were invented, marking a significant improvement and leading to a series of balloon innovations starting in the 1930s.
Balloon Production Process
- The production begins with latex being colored and mixed; this process involves filtering to remove clumps and maintaining latex activity for optimal results.
- Molds are coated with hot water to clean them before being submerged in an electrochemically charged coagulant tank that attracts colored latex.
Shaping and Drying Balloons
- After coating, molds are placed vertically while undergoing a drying process on a conveyor belt, where spiral brushes create nozzles for inflation.
- A crucial step involves inflating the balloons with air as they detach from their molds, followed by falling onto a conveyor belt for further processing.
Final Cleaning and Quality Check
- Balloons undergo industrial washing at high temperatures to eliminate impurities and complete vulcanization.
