Troubleshooting Tips for Evo Home System

In this video, Richard from the Evo Home Shop provides troubleshooting tips for a newly bound Evo Home system. He addresses issues such as the hourglass showing on the controller and the hot water not operating properly.

Hourglass Showing on Controller

  • If an hourglass is displayed on the controller after pairing it with the heating and hot water system, try removing the batteries from the CS92A device.
  • Remove the cover of CS92A and take out one battery.
  • Wait for about 10 seconds and then reinsert the battery.
  • Within 30 seconds to a minute, the temperature should be displayed on the IVA home controller.

Hot Water Temperature Not Displayed

  • After resolving the hourglass issue, ensure that the temperature of the cylinder is being displayed correctly.
  • Adjusting Cylinder Temperature:
  • Go to "System Parameters" > "Stored Hot Water" in the settings menu.
  • Check if it is set to 50 degrees. Change it to 60 degrees by pressing the green tick.

Hot Water BDR91 Not Coming On

  • If you are testing the hot water side and your hot water BDR91 is not coming on:
  • Access "Hot Water Overrun" in system parameters and set it to zero minutes.
  • This setting determines how long after hot water demand that motorized zone valve stays open. Zero minutes is suitable for S and Y plan systems using BTR90 devices.

Hot Water Differential

  • The hot water differential refers to the temperature at which IVA home controller brings back on heat to charge up hot water cylinder.
  • Setting Hot Water Differential:
  • Set the differential to 10 degrees if the cylinder is set to 60 degrees.
  • This means the hot water setpoint temperature needs to go below 50 degrees before the hot water side is activated.

Troubleshooting Hot Water Issues

  • If you are still experiencing issues with hot water after adjusting settings:
  • Turn off power to the BDR91 receivers for a couple of minutes.
  • Turn the power back on and try again.
  • If the red symbol appears on the controller after turning on hot water, turn it off, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on. The green light should come on if everything is functioning correctly.

Proper Placement of Devices

  • Ensure that devices such as CS92A and BDR91 are correctly spaced from each other and other objects.
  • Minimum Distance Requirements:
  • Maintain a minimum distance of 300 millimeters between devices.
  • This applies to both CS92A and BDR91 devices.
  • Also, keep them at least 300 millimeters away from metallic objects, cylinders, copper pipework, and other electrical or wireless devices.
