Monifactory Ep #6 - Factory must grow?

Monifactory Ep #6 - Factory must grow?

Welcome Back to Mony Factory

Introduction and Context

  • The host welcomes viewers back after a break of about one to two weeks due to illness and time constraints.
  • Acknowledges changes made to the sugar cane setup, including faster clock mechanisms for improved efficiency.

Recent Developments in Gameplay

  • Discusses crafting new items such as a blast furnace, steam dynamos, and other components necessary for upcoming builds.
  • Mentions ongoing mining activities and resource processing through a murator, indicating plans for future construction.

Challenges with Equipment Setup

  • Describes issues with mining pipes that cannot be removed easily; expresses uncertainty about their despawning behavior upon reloading the game.
  • Explains the limitations of using low-pressure steam boilers for power generation, noting inefficiencies in coverage area.

Upgrades and New Additions

  • Details upgrades made to increase sugar cane production by adding more steam dynamos and constructing mixers and autoclaves.
  • Outlines the assembly process for building equipment like input/output buses and maintenance hatches.

Operational Adjustments

  • Shares frustrations with using conveyor belts; opts instead for simpler item management methods.
  • Confirms successful construction of the blast furnace but notes confusion over why multiple units were required.

Setting Up Water Systems

Preparing Resources

  • Gathers materials like buckets of water and cobblestone to set up an aqueous accumulator system.
  • Plans adjustments to existing setups due to rain affecting gameplay mechanics.

Configuration Challenges

  • Faces difficulties in rotating blocks during setup; describes workarounds involving block placements.

Finalizing Sugar Cane Production

Routing Resources

  • Successfully configures water systems leading into production areas; prepares to route sugar cane underground for efficiency.

Anticipating Future Needs

Electrolysis and Resource Management in Gameplay

Electrolytes and Clay Dust Production

  • The process involves obtaining five electrolytes: sodium, silicon, lithium, aluminum, and water from clay dust. Clay dust can be produced by processing terracotta or other clay objects.
  • Terracotta is highlighted as an easy source for clay, which is essential for crafting various items in the game.

Crafting and Energy Management

  • An exchanging gadget can be created using lithium or sodium obtained from clay electrolysis to convert terracotta into other blocks. This process also allows for the production of clay dust that can yield aluminum.
  • Maintenance of machinery is discussed; tools are used on a maintenance hatch to ensure efficient operation. Aluminum ingots are produced every 20 seconds.

Power Consumption Calculations

  • The player realizes that six aluminum units are insufficient for continuous power supply; calculations reveal a need for more energy sources.
  • A detailed breakdown of energy consumption indicates that four amps are required to run specific equipment, leading to considerations about creating additional dynamos or battery buffers.

Battery Buffers and Resource Management

  • Plans to create low voltage battery buffers with sodium batteries are mentioned as a solution to energy shortages.
  • The player expresses intent to build a fluid trash can before concluding the session, indicating ongoing resource management strategies.

Progress Update After Break

  • After a break of nearly 24 hours, the player resumes gameplay with updates on resource management systems like sugarcane farming and battery banks filled with lithium batteries.
  • The efficiency of current setups is evaluated; it’s noted that six batteries only produce 1.9 amps while running equipment requiring higher amperage.

Expansion and Future Plans

  • The player discusses expanding their setup slightly while also addressing quest completions that have been pending throughout gameplay.

Power Management and Upgrades in Minecraft

Upgrading Dynamos to Steam Boilers and Turbines

  • The speaker discusses the importance of upgrading dynamos to steam boilers and turbines, recommending a ratio of 1:2 for optimal performance.
  • By converting dynamos from 40 RF base to 320 RF with three augmented dynamos, the speaker outlines a strategy for efficient energy production.
  • Acknowledges limitations in current power output, noting that ten amps are insufficient for their needs.

Crafting Energetic Alloy

  • The process of crafting integral components is introduced, emphasizing the need for specific materials like Invar plates.
  • The speaker explains how to view recipe requirements using the recipe tree feature in-game, which aids in resource management.
  • Clarifies the status indicators (active/inactive) when crafting items within machines.

Inventory Management and Component Production

  • Discusses managing inventory effectively while crafting multiple components simultaneously.
  • After completing initial tasks, the speaker checks on progress and prepares for further crafting steps.

Enhancing Power Output

  • The focus shifts back to producing energetic alloy necessary for advanced components; excitement is expressed over successful production.
  • Introduces aluminum and electrum as essential materials needed for upcoming upgrades.

Evaluating Energy Production Capacity

  • The effectiveness of upgraded equipment is assessed; it can now produce up to 60 RF per tick after modifications.
  • Analyzes whether current setups can sustain continuous operation of the blast furnace based on available resources.

Exploring Mining Techniques

  • Discusses mining strategies at bedrock level to obtain grains of infinity, highlighting an innovative method involving fire.
  • Explains how adjusting hammer settings can optimize mining efficiency by changing its operational area.

Exploring New Resources and Mechanics

Discovering Meteor Locations

  • The speaker mentions finding a meteor on the map, indicating that there are two meteors and an outpost nearby. This discovery is crucial for obtaining cess quartz.

Cess Quartz Growth Mechanism

  • Cess quartz can now be harvested as it grows in buds similar to amethyst crystals. The speaker notes that breaking these will yield flawed, chipped, or damaged versions of the quartz.

Automation of Quartz Collection

  • The speaker explains that while flawless cess quartz cannot be moved with a pickaxe, players can automate the collection of damaged, chipped, and flawed variants for resource management.

Special Storage and Block Manipulation

  • Flawless building blocks require special storage methods for manipulation. The speaker suggests using a copy-paste gadget from Direwolf's mod to manage these blocks effectively.

Preparing for Future Episodes

  • The speaker discusses plans to gather uraninite and pulsating dust between episodes. They highlight the need for ender pearls to progress further into hostile neural networks (H&N).

Final Thoughts on Episode Progress

Episode Conclusion and Future Plans

  • After 25 minutes of gameplay, the episode concludes with reflections on improvements made during this session. The speaker hints at potential upgrades but decides against them for now.

Video description

Hello, and welcome to episode 6 of monifactory. Today we start digging farther into the factory quest tab. We unlock the MV age of gregtech. And realize that more resources are required to continue. One thing to note is more and more will be done off camera and the episodes will become recaps of what has been done with a sprinkling of new stuff. "Monifactory is a Remaster of Nomifactory CEu to Modern Versions of Minecraft" directly from the curseforge site for Monifactory. I have played both omni and nomifactory in minecraft version 1.12. If you are curious I am not doing any of the challanges currently. I want to make this pack the main series for the channel currently. So hope you all enjoy.
