I (22 yrs old) came back to my home country of Ecuador to reconnect with the Amazon where I was raised and spend time with the people, culture, and environment that shaped me growing up. In this video, my wife (21 yrs old) shows me different parts of life in the Amazon jungle that would completely shock most Americans — from the food, traditions, and daily routines to the realities of living deep in nature. This isn’t “tourism” to me. This is home. I grew up around this lifestyle, and coming back here has reminded me how different life can feel outside of modern cities and constant consumerism. We explore the jungle, meet locals, experience traditional foods and customs, and show the raw beauty of life in the Ecuadorian Amazon. My goal with these videos is to share the culture and environment authentically while documenting my own journey reconnecting with my roots.
