Configuring Favorites and Understanding Roles in SAP
Adding Transactions to Favorites
- Users can add frequently used transactions to their favorites for quick access. This is done by selecting the executable object from the navigation menu and choosing "Add to Favorites" from the options provided.
- An alternative method involves using the application toolbar, where users can select a transaction and click on the corresponding icon to add it to their favorites.
- Users have the option to delete items from their favorites if needed, ensuring they can manage their list effectively. The changes made are user-specific and do not affect other users' configurations.
- The favorite transactions appear at the top of the navigation menu, allowing for quicker access to commonly used functions. Users can also edit transaction names directly within their favorites folder.
- Organizing favorites into folders is possible by right-clicking on "Favorites" or any folder, providing options such as modifying or inserting new folders for better classification.
Understanding Roles in SAP
- Roles are defined as sets of activities tailored for specific business scenarios, assigned based on user responsibilities within an organization. This ensures that users only access relevant transactions and reports according to their roles.
- When a role is assigned, a personalized menu appears upon user login, which includes all necessary transactions and applications linked to that role, enhancing data integrity across commercial operations.
- System administrators manage these roles and permissions within SAP Easy Access, allowing customization of roles per user needs while maintaining security protocols. Two methods exist for creating roles: using transaction code
pf cgor through a dedicated option in the application toolbar.
- During role creation, users must provide descriptions and select authorizations that determine what elements will be visible in each user's navigation menu within SAP Easy Access. This process allows precise control over user capabilities within the system.
