Legal Outcome

  • When faced with threats from Hulagu Khan’s diplomats demanding submission , Kutus defiantly executes them sending heads back hung outside Cairo gates signaling refusal .
  • With help from rival general Babbars also sold into slavery previously , they gather forces preparing for battle despite being heavily outnumbered three-to-one against Mongols .

Victory Against All Odds

  • During battle at Anjalut , Kutus charges into combat inspiring troops leading them towards victory causing unprecedented retreat among once feared Mongol warriors shattering their invincibility myth .
  • Although victorious reclaiming cities like Damascus & Aleppo afterwards , tragedy strikes when Kutus himself is assassinated likely orchestrated internally marking bittersweet end amidst glory achieved .
