Tutorial Photoshop | Efecto Acuarela
How to Create a Watercolor Effect in Photoshop
Introduction to the Tutorial
- The tutorial begins with an introduction, stating that viewers will learn how to create a watercolor effect.
- A link to the materials used in the tutorial is mentioned, which will be available in the video description.
- An example of the final result is shown at the start of the tutorial.
Preparing the Texture Layer
- The first step involves opening a texture image and unlocking its layer by double-clicking on the lock icon.
- After unlocking, users are prompted to rename this layer as "Textura" (Texture).
- The layer is then converted into a smart object before applying filters from the Filter Gallery.
Applying Texturizing Effects
- In filter settings, scale is set to 110% and relief to 4 for texturizing effects.
- Next, another image (Model) is opened and dragged into the working space.
- Users are instructed to resize this model using "Control + T" while holding down "Shift" for proportional scaling.
Creating New Layers and Painting
- A new layer is created while holding "Control," followed by selecting the Paint Bucket tool with white as the foreground color.
- This new layer is filled with white paint; then, users select both this layer and Model's layer for merging them together.
Adding Gradient Effects
- Another new layer named "Degradado" (Gradient) is created after merging layers.
- A mask is applied on this gradient layer; selections are made using "Control + A," followed by copying and deselecting actions.
Adjusting Levels for Contrast
- The visibility of Model's layer is turned off while pasting copied content onto its mask.
- Users adjust levels under Image > Adjustments > Levels, setting values for contrast enhancement: 60, 1.70, and 160 respectively.
Finalizing Gradient Application
- Color inversion occurs using "Control + I," followed by clicking on the mask while holding "Alt."
- The Gradient Tool is selected next; users load a gradient called “Espectro” (Spectrum), painting it across their canvas until satisfied with results.
Grouping Layers for Organization
- Finally, all related layers are grouped together by pressing “Control + G” and renaming it as “Efecto” (Effect).
