How to Get a Higher Rank in Jannah | Ep. 18 | #JannahSeries with Dr. Omar Suleiman

Striving for the Highest Level in Jannah

In this transcript, the speaker discusses the importance of striving to be as prophetic as possible by following the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The speaker also talks about how everyone will have their degree in Jannah in accordance with that which they used to do and how there are different degrees of righteousness and wickedness in Jannah.

The Blueprint of the Prophet and Sahaba

  • The example of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sets a higher standard for us to aim with ours.
  • The sahaba provide a blueprint for how we could be the best version of ourselves.

Degrees in Jannah

  • Everyone will have their degree in Jannah in accordance with that which they used to do.
  • There are different degrees of righteousness and wickedness in Jannah.
  • Every believer has two gardens in Jannah - one for their good deeds and one for abstaining from sin.

Striving for Higher Levels

  • Some scholars believe there is a superiority of one garden over another, indicating higher Gardens than others.
  • Those who are placed at a higher position will realize their position, while those at a lower grade will not feel like anyone has been placed above them because it wouldn't be Jannah otherwise.
  • The people of paradise will see each other like stars, but some stars will be better than others.
  • Although Allah forgives those who perform obligatory deeds, we should strive to reach higher levels in Jannah.

Conclusion

The speaker emphasizes the importance of striving for the highest level in Jannah and not becoming complacent with just doing the bare minimum. The degrees in Jannah are based on our deeds, and we should aim to be amongst the privileged with a higher rank.

Degrees of Paradise

The Prophet Muhammad conveyed the concept that there are higher degrees in Paradise that one should strive towards. There are general qualities and specific deeds that allow one to ascend to these higher degrees.

General Qualities for Higher Ranks in Jannah

  • The highest levels in Jannah are for those who cried at night with Allah and smiled at people during the day.
  • Believers who strive with their wealth and themselves in the path of Allah have a rank above those who stay at home by degrees.
  • Parents who raise their children to make dua will be raised by their child in paradise.

Specific Deeds for Higher Ranks in Jannah

  • Sponsoring orphans or showing excellence in raising daughters can lead to a high rank in Jannah.
  • Memorizing more Quran leads to elevation degree upon degree upon degree, with the last Ayah memorized determining the achieved rank.
  • Those who bore trials for the sake of Allah occupy the highest positions in paradise, with patience being rewarded highly.

Trials and Rank

Trials come your way until Allah elevates you to the rank he wants you to be. Saber can take you places in Jannah that your good deeds just cannot.

Hadith on Trials

  • A man may have a rank with Allah that he doesn't achieve by his Good Deeds but Allah continues to put that person through trials until he reaches his destined rank.

Hadith on Patience

  • Patience is rewarded highly, taking you places in Jannah that your good deeds just cannot.

The Importance of Loving the Prophet

In this section, the speaker talks about the importance of loving the Prophet and how it can help one ascend to higher levels in paradise.

Loving for the Sake of Allah

  • The speaker expresses their fear that they will not be able to see the Prophet in Jannah.
  • The Prophet said that whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger will be amongst those who have earned His favor.
  • The speaker mentions a hadith where the Prophet said that a person will be with whom they love.
  • Loving for the sake of Allah does not necessarily mean from the same generation, but rather loving those who were most beloved to Allah.

Ascending Higher in Paradise

  • Those who love each other for the sake of Allah will go anywhere they wish on camels with beautiful saddles.
  • If you love the Prophet, you get to be with him in Jannah. Trying to be like him is another way to ascend higher in paradise.
