Your Home in Jannah | Ep. 5 | #JannahSeries with Dr. Omar Suleiman
Introduction to Jannah
The speaker talks about the companions' conversation with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) regarding their hearts being hardened after leaving him and entering into worldly affairs. The Prophet reassures them that if they remain steadfast, the angels will visit them in their homes.
Description of Jannah
- The speaker explains that if one were to be perfect in this life, the angels would greet them in every direction like they would in Jannah.
- The structure of Jannah is described as having palaces made from bricks of gold and silver, plastered with musk, gravelled with pearl and ruby, and soil made from saffron.
- Those who enter into Jannah will enjoy eternity without death. Their clothes will never fade and their youth will never expire.
- Allah mentions 'buyoot', homes; 'qusoor', palaces; 'guraf', special apartments; 'khiyam', guest houses; and pavilions that reside on the outside of these gardens.
Properties of Jannah
- Allah mentions "masakina tayyiba," meaning mansions that are beautiful, pure, and don't require any maintenance.
- Everywhere you look around you just see indescribable blessing. And that's reflected on your face. Taa'rifu fee wujuhihim nathrata an-naa'eem You look at the faces of the believers and you just see that they're so happy, that they're full of so much bliss as they look around.
Degrees in Jannah
- A palace made purely out of gold is only for a Prophet, a siddiq, a martyr, or a just ruler.
Conclusion
The speaker concludes by reminding the audience to keep striving and going until they enter into Jannah and live that reality.
Final Thoughts
- Keep on striving and keep on going and wait for that moment where you enter into Jannah and actually live that reality.
The Highest Level of Paradise
This section discusses the highest level of paradise, which is reserved for those who are God-conscious and have done good deeds.
Ghuraf - Lofty Dwellings
- The highest level of paradise is described as "ghuraf," or lofty dwellings, made of crystal that sparkle in the horizon of Jannah.
- These dwellings belong only to the Sabiqun, or forerunners, and are like glimmering chalets in the sky that look like stars to the rest of Jannah.
- Those who are conscious of their Lord and have given up sins will have these rooms. Above those rooms are other rooms built with rivers flowing beneath them.
- Allah rewards people with high apartments because of their patience.
Qualities Required for Ghuraf
- The first quality required for ghuraf is taqwa, or God-consciousness. People who gave up sins that spoke to their lower selves get higher rewards.
- Those who do good deeds and believe in Allah will be rewarded with multiplied rewards and live safely in these lofty dwellings.
- Those most beloved to Allah are described as having lofty qualities such as treading lightly on earth and responding with salam when harshly addressed.
Rooms in Paradise
This section describes different types of rooms in paradise based on specific actions taken by individuals.
Transparent Homes
- There are transparent homes prepared by Allah Subh'anahu Wa Ta-A'la for those who feed the poor consistently and fast regularly. These homes have an inner part that is seen from the outside and an outer part that is seen from the inside.
Homes for Good Character
- The Prophet SallAllahu 'Alaihi Wasallam mentioned homes for those who leave off arguments, even when they're right. They also leave off foolish joking and have good character.
- These individuals have high standards that other people don't necessarily abide by.
Conclusion
The highest level of paradise is reserved for those who are God-conscious and have done good deeds. Ghuraf, or lofty dwellings, made of crystal are reserved for these individuals. Different types of rooms in paradise are prepared based on specific actions taken by individuals such as feeding the poor consistently and fasting regularly or having good character.
