Board Permissions

  • On monday.com, you have complete control over who can view or edit data.
  • Board owners can dictate what information can be viewed and edited on a board.
  • Find the board permissions settings from the menu.
  • Viewing permissions allow you to adjust who can see data on your board.
  • Editing permissions allow you to control who can edit the board's data.
  • With each selected option, the summary breaks down what can be changed by non-owners.

Column Permissions

  • Using column permissions, sensitive data can be hidden from all board members and shared only with those specified.
  • Only those specified are able to see the salary column itself.

Dashboard Permissions

  • There are two types of dashboards: main (visible to everyone in the account), and private (visible only to those invited).
  • Only dashboard owners can change the contents inside.
  • Members can be added from the share menu and ownership toggled by clicking the crown.

Workdoc Permissions

  • Similar settings exist for workdocs.
  • Editing permissions are controlled from the share menu here.
  • Toggling ownership for members ties into editing permissions below.

Workspace Permissions

  • Enterprise accounts can switch an entire workspace to closed, restricting access for a group of boards and dashboards in one fell swoop.
  • Workspace permissions allow enterprise customers to control all actions in a given workspace.

Account Permissions

  • Enterprise customers can find the account permissions within the administration tab from the avatar menu.
  • With account permissions, customize the specific permissions you want each user type to have.
  • Custom roles can be created on monday.com by picking an existing role to inherit permissions from and then customizing them to suit the job.
