Monifactory Ep#4 - Basic Machines

Money Factory Episode 4 - Crafting and Automation in Minecraft

Initial Setup and Resource Gathering

  • The host welcomes viewers back to episode four, mentioning that they have done some mining and filled a chest with resources.
  • The crafting of steam dynamos is discussed, detailing the necessary materials like iron gears, transmission coils, and excitation coils.

Circuit Production and Energy Conversion

  • The host emphasizes the need for circuits, planning to craft many until auto-crafting becomes possible. They mention acquiring nickel as well.
  • An energy converter is introduced; the host plans to start with an 8X model but realizes they need more steel for production.

Crafting Process

  • The crafting of cables begins; the host notes needing rubber alongside other materials.
  • A recipe tree is referenced as the host attempts to figure out how to craft an 8X cable using eight wires per unit.

Power Generation Setup

  • After crafting components, the host organizes them for use in power generation. They plan to automate processes using coal as fuel.
  • Discussion on creating a vacuum chest follows; automation strategies are outlined involving Redstone clocks and upgrades.

Automation Challenges and Solutions

  • The host addresses potential issues with automation setups while preparing for nighttime gameplay to avoid rain interruptions.
  • Pistons are crafted for automation purposes; repeaters are also made to facilitate redstone connections.

Final Steps in Automation

  • As power generation begins, the focus shifts towards producing steel efficiently. The process involves combining raw iron with carbon.

Crafting Components and Automation in Minecraft

Initial Resource Gathering

  • The speaker discusses the need for multiple components, specifically mentioning the calculation of resources needed (4 * 2 = 8).
  • Emphasizes the requirement for redstone and mentions needing three per item while planning to magnetize four items.
  • Notes a change in resource acquisition, particularly copper wires, which have become easier to make.

Progressing Towards Automation

  • The speaker identifies missing steel as a critical component for crafting further items.
  • Mentions various components like LV pumps and polarizers that are part of their crafting process.
  • Plans to create an auto miner but realizes quartzite is only obtainable from the Nether, delaying this task.

Farming and Future Planning

  • Discusses using a wheat field primarily for bone meal production due to playing on easy mode where food isn't necessary.
  • Indicates a potential shift away from showing repetitive tasks on camera as episodes may become longer without much commentary.

Crafting New Equipment

  • After gathering resources, the speaker successfully crafts an alloy smelter, enabling them to produce steel more efficiently.
  • Celebrates completing quests related to cable production after creating an alloy smelter.

Addressing Production Efficiency

  • Expresses frustration with current methods requiring two plates or ingots for one plate; aims to improve efficiency with a metal bender.
  • Reflects on learning controls within the game that could enhance crafting efficiency but admits uncertainty about specific functions.

Finalizing Crafting Processes

  • Describes cooking raw iron in order to produce steel using the newly crafted alloy smelter.
  • Outlines additional requirements such as tin cables and electric motors needed for upcoming projects.

Crafting and Resource Management in Gameplay

Material Requirements and Production

  • The speaker discusses the need for two more ingots to complete a plate, emphasizing resource management to avoid waste.
  • They confirm having raw iron available, indicating plans to create plates with specific ratios of materials needed for production.
  • The conversation shifts towards crafting various types of plates and springs, noting the absence of a cluster mill in their current setup.

Machine Construction and Power Management

  • The speaker mentions needing a file for further crafting, hinting at the importance of tools in gameplay mechanics.
  • They express concerns about power loss during operations but note that they can monitor power levels using Jade.
  • A discussion on improving efficiency arises, suggesting either speeding up processes or increasing material production.

Crafting Challenges and Future Plans

  • The speaker reflects on their inability to find diamonds yet, which limits their crafting options moving forward.
  • They mention the lack of a GUI for certain components like the Redstone clock, indicating potential limitations in automation capabilities.
  • Observations are made regarding water collectors' performance; they are functioning but slowly keeping up with demands.

Advanced Machinery Development

  • Plans are laid out to create a polarizer while discussing necessary materials such as steel and tin cables required for construction.
  • There’s an emphasis on converting sticky resin into usable forms while managing inventory effectively by storing tools after use.

Progression Towards New Technologies

  • The episode concludes with intentions to gather obsidian for future advancements but acknowledges current limitations regarding access to the Nether.
  • Questions arise about obtaining nether quartz without direct access; electrolyzing glass is suggested as an alternative method.
  • The speaker decides to craft an electrolyzer as part of their strategy before ending the session due to fatigue.

Automation Aspirations

  • Future plans include automating processes involving clay dust and other materials, showcasing ambitions toward more complex machinery setups.

What Happens When You Set Up a Pump?

Setting Up the Pump

  • The speaker decides to create a pump, indicating that they are concluding the episode soon after this task.
  • There is uncertainty about whether the setup is functioning correctly; the speaker mentions needing screwdrivers to access covers for adjustments.
  • To test the pump's functionality, the speaker uses energy to gather more nether quartz while observing if water drains from the system.
  • After testing, it appears that the pump is working as intended since no water drains out. The speaker reflects on their tiredness and chaotic experience during this episode.

Video description

Hello and welcome to episode 4 of Monifactory. Today we get started with crafting some basic power generation, some basic LV machines and figure out how to get some resources and realize why gregtech CEu is slightly annoying. "Monifactory is a Remaster of Nomifactory CEu to Modern Versions of Minecraft" directly from the curseforge site for Monifactory. I have played both omni and nomifactory in minecraft version 1.12. If you are curious I am not doing any of the challanges currently. I want to make this pack the main series for the channel currently. So hope you all enjoy.
