Historical Context and Design

• The Torre Virreyes was constructed in a unique "dorito" shape to prevent the collapse of a historic building nearby, known as the Servicio Lomas.

• Inaugurated in 1948, it is recognized as one of Mexico's first multifunctional buildings, featuring amenities like a gas station, car dealership, mechanical workshop, and even a car wash.

• Over time, the building fell into disuse; despite several attempts to demolish it, it was declared an artistic monument by IMBAba in 2011.
