Mini Load: An Overview of Automated Storage Systems
What is Mini Load?
- The Mini Load system is an automated storage solution designed for boxes or trays, integrating shelving, stacker cranes, conveyors, and warehouse management software (Easy WMS).
- It consists of one or more aisles with shelves on both sides where a stacker crane performs loading and unloading operations.
Order Preparation Zone
- At one end or side of the shelves lies the order preparation area equipped with conveyors that receive loads extracted by the stacker cranes.
- After picking operations are completed, boxes or trays are returned to their original locations.
Real-Time Inventory Management
- The system is managed by a Warehouse Management System (WMS), which maintains a real-time inventory.
- The Mini Load can increase storage capacity up to ten times compared to conventional warehouses due to its high-density storage capabilities.
Capacity and Efficiency
- This type of warehouse can handle loads weighing up to 100 kilograms per box or tray and has a maximum height of 20 meters.
- Stacker cranes deliver products directly to the picking station, minimizing operator movement and enhancing order preparation speed.
