Your Jannah Welcoming | Ep. 4 | #JannahSeries with Dr. Omar Suleiman
The Gate of Jannah
This section describes the arrival of those who are mindful of their Lord at the gate of Jannah. They find a tree with two streams flowing out, and they drink from each stream as commanded. Drinking from these streams purifies them both inside and outside.
Two Streams Flowing Out
- Those who are mindful of their Lord will arrive at the gate of Jannah.
- At the root of a tree, there are two streams flowing out.
- They approach one stream and drink from it as commanded.
- All dirt, filth, and foulness on the inside is washed away by drinking from this stream.
- Then they approach the other stream and drink from it as well.
- Everything on the outside is washed away by drinking from this stream.
- This gives them a radiance that is like Jannah.
The Keepers of Paradise
- After drinking from both streams, they reach the keepers of paradise.
- The keepers say "peace be unto you, you have become purified. Enter it now and abide there forever."
Entering Jannah in Peace
This section explains how to enter Jannah in peace. It emphasizes spreading peace to others in order to be welcomed into Jannah with salaam.
Spreading Peace
- When Prophet Muhammad (SAW) gave his first address to people in Medina, he said that spreading peace was essential for getting to Jannah.
- Angels greet people entering paradise with "peace be unto you, you have become purified."
- Scholars say this means people will be safe from their environment and internal sins.
- People entering Jannah are safe from time, expiration, enemies, and expulsion.
- The punishment of Hellfire is increased by the pain of knowing that one had many chances to respond to the call of darussalam (the place of peace).
- Entering through the gates of Hellfire means the gates shut behind them and it only gets worse inside.
Entering Jannah in Peace
- Those who enter into Jannah do so in peace.
- They roam freely without needing protection or being trapped.
- People in Jannah know their home better than they knew their home in this world.
Welcoming Committee in Jannah
This section describes the welcoming committee in Jannah. It starts with an angel guiding people to their properties until they reach their final dwelling. Once they enter into their home with family, the angel goes away.
Guiding Angel
- One narration says that one person will know his/her home in Paradise as well as he/she knew his/her home on Earth.
- Allah has described Paradise to people on Earth so that once they enter it, they will recognize it by its description.
- The purpose of an angel guiding people is only to make them feel more welcomed.
Welcoming Committee
- There is a whole welcoming committee in Jannah starting with angels greeting people at the gate.
The Beauty of Jannah
This section describes the beauty and grandeur of Jannah, as well as the rewards that await believers who enter it.
Description of Jannah
- Believers are led through different lanes and pathways in Jannah, where they see palaces made of gold and silver.
- There are servants at every gate of every palace who welcome believers with open arms.
- Spouses in Paradise welcome each other by saying "you are my love and I am your love."
- Allah welcomes people to Paradise by asking if they are pleased with what He has given them. They respond that they could not be more pleased.
Special Homes in Paradise
- The most special homes in Paradise are for those who responded to severe trials with exemplary patience.
- When someone loses a child but still praises Allah through the pain, Allah says to build for them a house of praise because they lost what made their home praiseworthy in this life.
- A person enters into their palace in paradise and is met with family members full of joy and receiving them.
Beauty of Believers' Palaces
- Even the bed is erected on beautiful pearls, and there are green, red, and yellow cats and drapes throughout the palace.
- Believers raise their heads to the roof of their house and say "all praises be to Allah who guided us to this."
