Changing Mindsets: The Importance of Early Adaptation

The Challenge of Changing Attitudes

  • It is challenging for adults to change their mindsets; however, it is easier to adapt attitudes and behaviors during childhood.
  • Emphasizes the significance of early intervention in shaping positive behaviors and attitudes in children.

I’mPOSSIBLE Project Overview

  • NPC Kazakhstan, with support from the Agitos Foundation, initiated the pilot project "I’mPOSSIBLE" in nine schools located in Astana city.
  • The project engaged 424 children, including 43 children with disabilities and involved 36 teachers.

Understanding Disability

  • Highlights a perspective on disability: it is not solely physical (e.g., legs or eyes), but also a mental state.
  • Suggests that self-identifying as disabled can perpetuate a mindset of limitation.
