17 - Movilización hacia el borde de la cama
How to Mobilize a Patient in Bed
Steps for Patient Mobilization
- The mobilization process begins by positioning yourself on the side of the bed towards which the patient will be moved, informing them about the procedure.
- The first step involves moving the upper body. This is done by placing one arm behind the patient's neck and securing their shoulder to stabilize their head while using the other arm under their armpits.
- Next, focus on shifting the midsection of the body. One arm should be placed under their lower back and another under their thighs, performing a similar rocking motion as in the first step to move their hips outward from the bed.
