The human heart consists of several key structures, including the vena cava inferior, vena cava superior, pulmonary veins (upper and lower), and the aorta.
Additional important components include the subclavian artery, left pulmonary artery, and structures like the brain stem and pulmonary trunk.
Chambers of the Heart
The heart has four main chambers:
Right atrium
Left atrium
Right ventricle
Left ventricle
Blood Flow Dynamics
The right atrium receives oxygen-poor blood from the body, directing it to the right ventricle, which then pumps this blood towards the lungs for oxygenation.
Conversely, the aortic artery distributes oxygen-rich blood from the heart throughout the body, while pulmonary arteries transport oxygen-poor blood to the lungs.
Oxygen Exchange Process
The left atrium collects oxygen-rich blood from the lungs and sends it to the left ventricle.

[ 1:24 ] 8) Válvulas Aurículo-ventriculares: Son las válvulas que admiten el paso de la sangre desde cada aurícula al ventrículo del mismo lado, e impiden el reflujo de la sangre.
[ 1:14 ] 9) Ventrículo Izquierdo: Es una cámara cardiaca que recibe la sangre rica en oxígeno de la aurícula izquierda, luego la impulsa a las arterias para que se distribuya por todo el cuerpo.
