How to Obtain Your SAT Password
Introduction to SAT Access Requirements
- To access the SAT portal, a user ID and password are required. The user ID is always your RFC (Federal Taxpayer Registry).
- The password, known as "contraseña ciega," is easy to obtain through a completely online, free, and secure process.
Important Distinctions
- It's crucial to differentiate between the electronic signature (firma o fiel) and the contraseña ciega; they serve different purposes.
- For obtaining an electronic signature, you must visit SAT offices in person with an appointment.
Steps for Generating Your Password
- Begin by visiting the specified link on the SAT website. It’s recommended to use a tablet or smartphone for ease of navigation.
- Select "Generación de Contraseña" from the available options. Have your RFC, email address, phone number, and valid identification ready (INE, passport, etc.).
Completing Registration
- After entering your information and agreeing to terms and conditions, you'll need to complete a captcha.
- A confirmation code will be sent via text message; it must be registered within one minute.
Identity Verification Process
- Upload your identification document by taking photos of both sides if using INE.
- You will also need to record yourself saying a specific phrase displayed on-screen for identity verification.
Finalizing Your Request
- Sign your request digitally in the designated area on-screen; ensure it closely resembles your identification signature.
