Cutting Out the Subject
- To cut out the subject, there are two methods suggested:
- Filming the subject on a green screen and later keying it out.
- Using a tool like Runway ML or Magic Mask in DaVinci Resolve to mask out the subject with a few clicks.
Setting Up the Footage
- Import footage of a dancing person found on pexels.com.
- If using Runway ML, export the masked subject and place it on top of the original footage.
- Right-click and create a new fusion clip to combine both clips.
Creating Neon Outline Effect
- Enter Fusion mode and organize elements.
- Use Delta Keyer to key out the subject, ensuring enough detail for creating an outline.
- Under Templates > Tools, select Edge Control to generate an outline that updates frame by frame.
- Adjust pre-blur size for desired thickness of outline.
Adding Glow and Color Effects
- Apply Soft Glow effect to make the outline look neon.
- Adjust glow size for desired intensity.
- Use Color Scale to adjust colors until achieving desired neon effect.
- Add another Soft Glow effect with reduced gain to enhance blue color.
- Set merge node apply mode to screen for blending.
Creating Color Changing Effect
- Use Shift + Space shortcut and add a Color Corrector node.
- Set keyframes on hue at first and last frames, adjusting value from 0 to 1.
- This creates a color-changing effect throughout the video.
