Types of Milk and Their Preservation Methods

Pasteurized Milk

  • Pasteurized milk is produced through a gentle thermal treatment that preserves its nutritional and sensory characteristics while ensuring the destruction of harmful microorganisms.
  • This process does not eliminate spores, necessitating refrigeration and a short consumption period as indicated on the packaging.

UHT Milk

  • UHT (Ultra High Temperature) milk undergoes heating above 135°C for a few seconds, maintaining its natural flavor, smell, and color while eliminating all bacteria and their spores.
  • This method allows UHT milk to be stored at room temperature for about three months, enhancing durability and ease of preservation.
