Understanding Patterns and Sequences
Introduction to Patterns
- A pattern is defined as a succession of elements constructed following a specific rule, which repeats logically. This repetition forms what is known as a sequence.
- A sequence consists of a series of elements that follow one another and maintain a relationship with each other; it represents the repetition of the pattern.
Example of Patterns
- The first example introduced is the pattern: gato (cat), Panda. The sequence created from this pattern is: gato Panda, gato Panda, gato Panda.
Level 1 Pattern Recognition
- In level 1, participants are asked to identify the next element in sequences:
- Sequence: auto Moto Moto auto → Next element: Moto (correct answer).
- Sequence: lápiz cuaderno lápiz cuaderno lápiz → Next element: cuaderno (correct answer).
Further Examples in Level 1
- Another sequence presented was: mono elefante mono elefante mono → Participants were prompted to guess the next item, which was incorrectly guessed as León but correctly identified as elefante.
Introduction to Level 2 Sequences
- Transitioning into level 2, a new sequence involving three elements is introduced:
- Sequence: manzana limón pera manzana limón pera → Participants are asked for the next item, which is pera (correct answer).
Additional Level 2 Example
