The Brave Little Tailor

Introduction to the Tailor's Journey

  • The story begins with a cheerful tailor working diligently at his window, setting a light-hearted tone for the tale.
  • A farmer's wife approaches, selling delicious jam; the tailor buys some, believing it will give him strength for his work.

The Tailor's Unexpected Bravery

  • Flies are attracted to the sweet jam on his bread; in frustration, he swats them away and discovers he has killed seven flies.
  • Proud of this feat, he embroiders a belt proclaiming "Seven at one stroke," showcasing his newfound bravery.

Encounter with the Giant

  • The tailor meets a giant who initially mocks him but is intrigued by the tailor’s bold claim of strength.
  • To test him, the giant squeezes a stone until water drips out; the tailor responds by squeezing cheese to show his own strength.

Proving Strength and Wit

  • The giant challenges the tailor to throw something high into the air; instead of throwing a stone, he releases a bird that flies away.
  • They then move on to lifting heavy objects; while the giant carries a tree trunk, the clever tailor rides on it unnoticed.

Cleverness Over Strength

  • After tricking the giant into carrying both himself and the tree trunk, they encounter another challenge involving cherries from a tree.
  • When asked if he can hold onto a thin branch, the tailor jumps over it instead, further impressing and confusing the giant.

Night in the Cave

  • The giants invite him to stay overnight in their cave; however, one mistakenly tries to crush him while sleeping.
  • Surviving this scare leads to more adventures as he continues on his journey after scaring off other giants.

Arrival at Royal Palace

  • Eventually reaching a royal palace after much wandering, tiredness leads him to rest in grass where people mistake him for a great warrior due to his belt.
  • He agrees to serve under the king after being approached by an envoy seeking help against two troublesome giants threatening their kingdom.

A Bold Proposition

  • The king offers rewards including marrying his daughter and half of his kingdom if he defeats these giants.
  • Confidently dismissing needing assistance from soldiers due to his earlier claims of bravery ("seven at one stroke"), he sets off alone into battle.

The Tale of the Brave Tailor

The Encounter with Giants

  • A tailor climbs a tree and throws stones at two sleeping giants, waking them up. The giants argue about who is hitting whom, but eventually fall back asleep due to their fatigue.
  • The tailor continues his mischief by throwing a stone at the first giant, which leads to both giants becoming enraged and uprooting trees in their fury.
  • After witnessing the chaos caused by the giants, the townspeople are skeptical of the tailor's claims of victory until they see the fallen giants and uprooted trees.

Tasks from the King

  • The tailor demands his promised reward from the king but is told he must complete another heroic task: capturing a destructive unicorn in the forest.
  • Using clever tactics, the tailor tricks the unicorn into getting stuck on a tree before capturing it with a rope and bringing it back to the king.

Further Challenges

  • Despite successfully capturing the unicorn, the king assigns another challenge: catching a wild boar that causes havoc in the woods. Hunters are enlisted to assist him.
  • The tailor cleverly traps the wild boar inside a chapel by outsmarting it and closing doors behind him, leading to its capture.

Triumph and Transformation

  • After completing all tasks, including marrying the princess and gaining half of her father's kingdom, there is an underlying tension as she discovers his humble origins as a tailor.

Deception Unveiled

  • The queen learns about her husband's past when he talks in his sleep about sewing. She devises a plan to have him captured by her father’s servants while he sleeps.

Final Confrontation

  • When confronted about his past achievements—killing two giants, capturing an unicorn and wild boar—the tailor asserts confidence despite being threatened. His bravery earns him respect among those who initially doubted him.

In jeder Geschichte versteckt sich unser kleiner Wichtel. Kannst Du ihn entdecken? *** ► Kanal-Abo: http://bit.ly/DeineMärchenwelt ► Playlist: http://bit.ly/Märchenwelt-Playlist *** Art Direction: Sarah Laban Design & Storyboard: Sarah Laban Animation: AnimaFox Redaktion & Lektorat: Justus Bergen, Patrick Proner Sprecher: Christian Jungwirth Sounddesign: Joachim Henning Copyright: Family Screen GmbH *** Besuche uns auch hier: Web: www.deinemärchenwelt.de Facebook: facebook.com/deinemaerchenwelt
