Claude Can Now Do "OpenClaw" Natively (Remote Control + Tasks)

Introduction to Open Cloud Features

Overview of New Implementations

  • The speaker discusses the development of an "open cloud" version utilizing existing MCB servers and personal skills, allowing for scheduled tasks accessible via mobile devices.
  • Emphasizes a safer and more efficient implementation compared to previous systems, particularly highlighting recent features released by Anthropic that enhance security and workflow.

Key Features of Open Cloud

  • Describes the advantages of having an always-on agent capable of performing tasks across multiple channels, including executing commands and managing cron jobs.
  • Critiques Cloudbot's setup complexity and inefficiency while praising new features from Anthropic that improve functionality in cloud code and co-work environments.

Major Updates from Anthropic

New Functionalities Introduced

  • Highlights two significant features: remote control for cloud code instances and scheduled tasks for co-work, enhancing user interaction with local instances.
  • Remote control allows users to interact with their local cloud code instance on mobile devices, mirroring actions performed on their computers.

Scheduled Tasks Capabilities

  • Scheduled tasks can be set up on various frequencies (hourly, daily, weekly), enabling powerful automation capabilities within the user's file system.

Automemory Integration

Enhancements in Memory Management

  • Discusses how Cloud Code's automemory feature allows persistent memory storage outside project files, capturing insights and learnings effectively.
  • Combines functionalities such as access to file systems, CLI commands, cron jobs, and centralized memory into a cohesive operational framework.

Practical Setup Demonstration

Setting Up BetterClaw

  • The speaker shares their setup process using a Mac Mini for continuous development akin to OpenClaw requirements.
  • Details the directory structure created for better organization of memory logs and project information essential for effective operation.

Connected Servers Overview

  • Lists global MCP servers connected to the system along with specific sub-agents designed for various functions like CRM operations or content production.
  • Mentions installed marketplace plugins that enhance functionality through skills evaluation directly from mobile devices.

Remote Control and Task Scheduling with Claude

Remote Control Activation

  • The remote control feature is activated, allowing access to an interactive session on a mobile device. The user initiates research on "Nano Banana 2" through voice dictation.

Interaction with Cloud Code

  • The system utilizes an adversarial research sub-agent to conduct the requested research using Bright Data tools, demonstrating seamless interaction between the phone and computer.

Session Requirements

  • For remote control functionality, a cloud code session must remain open in the terminal; otherwise, it will not operate from the phone. This requirement also applies to recurring tasks managed by Cloud Co-work.

Configuring Remote Control Settings

  • Users can enable persistent remote control for all sessions via configuration settings, simplifying access across devices compared to traditional methods like T-m tail scale term solutions.

Scheduled Tasks Feature

  • A new option for creating scheduled tasks is introduced within Claude's co-work feature. Users can specify task details such as name, description, prompt, model selection, folder association, and frequency of execution.

Creating Effective Scheduled Tasks

  • An example of creating a scheduled task involves analyzing YouTube analytics daily at 6 a.m., showcasing how Claude assists in refining prompts through clarifying questions during setup.

Integration of Agents and Memory Management

  • The scheduled task created by Claude Co-work integrates with betterclaw's memory management system. It allows users to interact directly from their phones while maintaining access to sub-agents and skills on demand.

Proof of Concept Implementation

  • The current implementation serves as a proof of concept for utilizing OpenClaw locally without security concerns or risks of being banned. This approach emphasizes efficiency in managing tasks through cloud code and co-work features.
Video description

Claude now has two features that can natively replicate what OpenClaw does—safer, with no ban risk, and built right into the official toolchain. In my last video, I explained why I was done with OpenClaw. In this one, I'll show you how I'm using Claude Code's new Remote Control feature and Cowork's Scheduled Tasks to essentially recreate a safer proof-of-concept that I'm calling "Better Claw." An always-on Claude agent you can control from your phone, that runs tasks while you sleep, all without third-party hacks, huge security red flags, or risking your Anthropic account. I'll walk you through how Remote Control lets you send prompts to a running Claude Code instance from any device, how Scheduled Tasks automate recurring workflows, and how combining these with MCP servers, Skills, sub-agents, and auto memory creates something more stable and efficient than OpenClaw ever was. ⌚ TIMESTAMPS: 0:00 - Intro & The "Better Claw" Concept 1:36 - Feature 1: Remote Control Explained 2:24 - Feature 2: Scheduled Tasks Explained 3:12 - My "Better Claw" Mac Mini Setup 4:48 - Demo: Controlling Claude from my Phone 6:35 - Demo: Building a Scheduled Task 8:05 - Final Thoughts 🔗 RESOURCES & LINKS: Remote Control Docs → https://code.claude.com/docs/en/remote-control Scheduled Tasks Guide → https://support.claude.com/en/articles/13854387-schedule-recurring-tasks-in-cowork Claude Code Memory Docs → https://code.claude.com/docs/en/memory My Skills & Configs Marketplace → https://github.com/JeredBlu/jeredblu-marketplace Book a call with me → https://yedatechs.com/#discovery-call Sponsorship inquiries → hi@yedatechs.com #ClaudeCode #Cowork #OpenClaw #RemoteControl #ScheduledTasks #AIAgents #Anthropic
