Planning and Preparation

  • Due to solid rock ground, a jackhammer is used to dig holes for the posts.
  • Concrete is mixed and poured into the holes with anchor plates to secure the posts.

Erecting Posts and Welding

  • Posts are set vertically in place after securing them with concrete.
  • Six by six posts are chosen for robustness, ensuring structural integrity.
  • All four posts are erected, ensuring they are square and in the correct position.

Attaching Girders and Trusses

  • Girders are attached using angle irons as temporary support before welding.
  • Caps are welded onto hollow posts, followed by making trusses with a three 12 pitch.
  • Gussets are added for stability, connecting trusses top cord to bottom cord.

New Section

This section covers the assembly of trusses and additional structural components of the carport.

Installing Trusses

  • Trusses are lifted into place using a man basket for ease of installation.
  • Gussets are welded onto trusses for stability against rocking movements.
