Tools for Changing Materials in Design
Overview of Material Editing Tools
- The video introduces tools available for changing materials on various design elements, including furniture, countertops, appliances, walls, floors, and architectural moldings.
Changing Door Materials and Models
- To change the door material and model for all furniture pieces, click on the "furniture series" button to select the desired door model from a pop-up window.
- Users can double-click images to enlarge them for better visibility while editing materials. For this example, a specific material will be applied to the door. Additionally, users must define materials for the casing and handles. By default, changes apply to all types of materials unless specified otherwise.
Applying Changes Selectively
- If users wish to apply changes only to specific furniture items rather than all at once, they can deactivate the "apply to all" checkbox before confirming their selections. This allows targeted application of materials.
Configuring Countertop Materials
- To set countertop materials, click on the countertop material tool and select the desired finish; changes will reflect only on applicable furniture pieces that include countertops.
- For editing countertops made from outlines rather than standard models, navigate to the furniture tab and use the "Edit" button next to "countertop conform." Here you can choose your preferred material in a dialog box that appears after selecting which countertop to edit.
Bulk Editing Furniture Materials
- Users can edit multiple components (door model, handle model) simultaneously through a pop-up window where they configure various parts' materials (casing, door handle). Keeping the "apply to all" option active applies these changes across all selected furniture items. Alternatively, deselecting it allows modifications on individual pieces only.
Copying Material Settings Between Furniture
Importing Material Settings
- The program features an import function allowing users to copy material settings from one piece of furniture to others by selecting a source item first before applying those settings broadly or selectively as needed.
Editing Accessory Materials
Accessory Material Modification Process
- To modify accessory materials (e.g., stools), select an object and open its editing dialog; right-clicking also provides access via an accessory material button that opens similar options for customization based on part selection (legs or seat).
Different Parts in Accessories
- When editing different accessories like lamps compared with stools, note that lamps have more editable parts due to their complexity; however, both follow similar procedures in terms of accessing their respective material editors.
Modifying Wall and Floor Materials
Wall Material Selection
- For wall modifications using designated tools: specify desired paint type (e.g., white paint) within a dialog box; by default walls are set with zero angles and dimensions of 30x30 cm but can be adjusted as necessary depending on user preferences or design requirements.
Applying Wall Changes
- Users have an option whether or not these wall changes should apply universally across all walls by toggling an “apply to all” checkbox accordingly before finalizing selections—this ensures consistency throughout designs if chosen so.
Floor Material Insertion
- Similar processes apply when modifying floor materials: select appropriate flooring type (e.g., green tile), adjust angle (45º) and dimensions (50x50 cm), then confirm selections for immediate visual updates within design layout upon acceptance of choices made during this process.
