Biblical Foundation for Pastoral Ministry
A theological foundation for pastoral ministry must be first of all biblical, it must be based upon the teaching of scripture, it must be practical, dealing with real-life situations that you are finding.
John Calvin's Institutes
- Real theological doctrine must always lead to godliness.
- John Calvin's purpose was solely to transmit certain rudiments by which those who are touched with any zeal for religion might be shaped to true godliness.
We Believe: Resources for Faith with Baptist Distinctives
- The document is useful because as we work our way through it, there are scripture proofs that are connected with it.
- Encourage you to look up as many statements of faith as you can find such as the Metropolitan Tabernacle statement of faith or the Philadelphia statement of faith.
Importance of Understanding Your Theological Assumptions
- It must help you to understand and to challenge your theological assumptions based upon what the scripture says.
