How to Light a Stove Top and Oven

Lighting the Stove Top

• To light the stove top, use a lighter or an electronic igniter. Turn the knob until the burner lights.

• For models with a push-button igniter, you must spark each burner individually. If one burner is lit and you want to light another, turn it on and respark it to avoid gas buildup.

Lighting the Oven

• To light the oven, open the door, push in slightly on the knob, turn it to "pilot," and use a lighter at the pilot light location.

• Hold down the knob for about 30 seconds after lighting. If it goes out when released, relight and hold longer next time.

Adjusting Oven Settings

• Once lit successfully, release the knob and set your desired baking temperature. After cooking, return to "pilot" position to keep it lit for future use.
