Dates of Entry into Force for BWM Convention Annexes

This section provides the dates of entry into force for each annex of the Ballast Water Management (BWM) Convention.

Dates of Entry into Force

  • Annex 1 came into force on 2 October 1983.
  • Annex 2 came into force on 6 April 1987.
  • Correction - Annex 3 came into force on 1 July 1992.
  • Annex 4 came into force on 27 September 2003.
  • Annex 5 came into force on December 31,1988.
  • Annex 6 came into force on May19,2005.

Correction

  • There is no such thing as Annex7 for BWM. It is a whole convention.
